Microsoft announces to cut 18,000 workers over Next Year




Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft announced that 18,000 workers will be slashed over next year.  This is almost equal to 14 percent of the company’s workforce.  This was revealed in a letter to employees. 

"We are moving now to start reducing the first 13,000 positions, and the vast majority of employees whose jobs will be eliminated will be notified over the next six months," Nadella wrote. "It's important to note that while we are eliminating roles in some areas, we are adding roles in certain other strategic areas."

As on june 5 of this year, the total strength of the Microsoft was 127,000
